Last weekend someone rear-ended me at a stoplight downtown Dallas. Thankfully no injuries, but turns out the other driver had zero insurance. Now I'm stuck figuring out repairs. Anyone else been through something similar? Curious how you handled it...

Man, that's rough... glad you're okay though. Did you happen to have uninsured motorist coverage on your policy? I had a similar thing happen a couple years backβ€”someone clipped me in a parking lot and just took off. Luckily, my insurance covered it under uninsured motorist, minus the deductible of course (always gotta pay something, right?). If you don't have that coverage, maybe check if your collision coverage can help out.

Also, did you file a police report? Sometimes having that official documentation can help smooth things over with insurance companies. And hey, if repairs end up being pricey, might be worth shopping around at local body shopsβ€”some places can surprise you with decent prices if you're paying out-of-pocket.

Anyway, hope it all works out smoothly for you. On the bright side, at least your car didn't get totaled right before a big road trip... been there, done that, not fun at all.

Had the same thing happen to me last summerβ€”guy rear-ended my '68 Mustang and of course, no insurance.

Yep, ended up eating the deductible. Glad you're alright though... cars can be fixed, people not so easily.
