got hit by a driver without insurance, glad I had coverage
Last month someone rear-ended me at a stoplight. Nothing major, but enough to mess up my bumper pretty good. Turns out the other driver didn't have insurance - big surprise there, right? Anyway, luckily I'd added uninsured motorist coverage to my policy a while back. Honestly, I almost skipped it to save a few bucks, but now I'm super relieved I didn't. Anyone else had something similar happen and felt grateful they opted for that extra coverage?

Yeah, it's one of those coverages you never think you'll need until you do. I drive a higher-end car, and trust me, repairs aren't cheap even for minor stuff. Had a similar incident last year - someone clipped my side mirror in a parking lot and took off. No insurance info, nothing. Glad I had uninsured motorist coverage too; saved me from shelling out a ridiculous amount for something so small. Definitely worth the extra premium... peace of mind counts for a lot.
