I'm finally getting my own car soon (yay freedom!) and now I'm stuck on insurance. There's a super cheap policy that covers the basics, but then there's another that's pricier but has better coverage and lower deductibles. Money's tight, but I also don't wanna regret skimping if something happens, you know? Anyone been in this spot—did you go budget or play it safe? Curious how that turned out for you.

Been there myself, and honestly, I totally get the temptation to go cheap—especially when money's tight. But from experience, I'd say it's worth stretching your budget a bit for better coverage. A couple years back, someone rear-ended me at a stoplight. It wasn't even my fault, but dealing with insurance was still a headache. Luckily, I had decent coverage with a low deductible, so repairs were sorted without too much stress or out-of-pocket pain.

If I'd gone with the bare minimum policy, I'd have been stuck paying way more upfront...and that would've hurt way worse financially. So yeah, it might feel like you're paying extra for something you might never use (fingers crossed), but if something does happen, you'll thank yourself later. Just my two cents—good luck deciding!
