I guess it comes down to how much risk you’re willing to live with... and how attached you are to your ride.

That’s exactly it. For me, the risk is always on my mind—I’ve had a couple fender benders and one totaled car, so dropping full coverage just isn’t in the cards. Have you ever thought about raising your deductible instead of going barebones? Sometimes that’s a good middle ground if you’re not ready to ditch coverage entirely.

Totally get where you’re coming from. After my cousin’s car got sideswiped and the other driver vanished, she was so relieved she’d kept full coverage. Sometimes peace of mind is worth the extra bucks, especially if you’ve been through it before. Raising the deductible can be a sweet spot—less monthly pain, but you’re still covered if something big happens.

Yeah, I totally agree—having full coverage just feels safer, especially when you’re new to driving or have had some bad luck. A couple of my friends dropped it once their cars got older, but then one got rear-ended and it was a nightmare dealing with repairs. For me, I’d rather pay a bit more each month than stress every time I park somewhere sketchy. Maybe once my car’s not worth much, I’ll rethink it... but for now, it’s worth the peace of mind.
