car insurance confusion for first-time driver

Just passed my driving test (yay me!) but now I'm staring at car insurance quotes and um...is it normal for them to be THIS high? Any tips on how to get a better deal or lower premiums would be super appreciated.

Congrats on passing your test, that's a big milestone. And yeah, unfortunately, those first quotes can be a real shocker. I remember when I first got my license, the insurance quote was almost more than the car itself...felt like daylight robbery. Have you tried adding an experienced driver (like a parent) as a named driver? That helped me a bit. Also, sometimes tweaking your mileage or parking location can shave off a few quid. Hang in there, it does get better with time and experience.
