I actually had the opposite experience—USAA’s bundling has been pretty decent for us, at least so far. Maybe it’s just luck or timing, but our rates have stayed pretty flat over the last five years. I keep waiting for that “surprise” hike everyone warns about, but it hasn’t hit yet. The discounts aren’t mind-blowing, but when I compared them to separate policies elsewhere, it still came out a bit cheaper for us.

Customer service is about what you said—helpful, not magical. They did save my bacon once when my kid backed into a mailbox, though, so I can’t complain too much. Maybe it depends on your area or how many policies you’re juggling? I’ve got auto, home, and a little life insurance bundled together. Not saying it’s perfect, but for my family, it’s been less hassle than shopping around every year.

I get where you’re coming from, but my experience with USAA bundling has been a mixed bag. The convenience is nice, but I actually saw my rates creep up after the first year, even though I didn’t have any claims or changes. Maybe it’s just my area or bad timing, but I ended up splitting my auto and renters to save a few bucks. Customer service was fine—nothing special, but not terrible either. Guess it really does depend on your situation...
