I hear you on the car covers—honestly, they’re a pain if you’re not parked at home. I’ve seen those pop-up shelters in action a couple times, but Houston wind is no joke. One neighbor’s blew halfway down the street during a bad storm. If you can anchor them really well, maybe they help, but it seems like more trouble than it’s worth most days. Insurance just feels like a necessary evil around here with all the crazy weather.
