That’s the thing—people assume “occasional” means whatever they want it to mean, but insurance companies have their own definitions. I always check my policy before tossing someone the keys, just in case. One friend borrowed my car for a weekend trip and my agent said that was pushing it. Not worth risking a denied claim over a favor, honestly.

I’ve always wondered where the line actually is for “occasional.” Like, if my brother borrows the car once a month, is that still occasional or do I need to add him? Feels like insurance companies keep it vague on purpose. Anyone ever had a claim denied because of this? Makes me nervous about loaning my car even for a day sometimes...
