I totally get the tracker thing—having that device in my car made me feel like I was being watched 24/7, and it just didn’t sit right. I tried pay-per-mile for a few months after a couple of speeding tickets, thinking it’d save me some cash, but honestly, knowing my driving was being monitored made me even more anxious behind the wheel. Maybe it’s worth a few extra bucks to not have that added stress. Sometimes peace of mind is underrated, especially if you’ve had your share of close calls.

I hear you about the stress of being tracked, but I actually found the pay-per-mile thing kind of freeing in a weird way:

- I drive a lot less than I used to (long road trips aside), so it felt fair to only pay for what I use. My old insurance never gave me a break, even when my car sat for weeks.
- The tracker was a little creepy at first, not gonna lie. But after a few weeks, I forgot it was there. I figured, as long as I’m not flooring it or doing anything wild, it’s just quietly counting miles.
- For me, the anxiety faded once I realized it wasn’t really judging my every move, just recording distance. It’s not like it’s sending a text to my mom if I brake hard.
- I get the peace of mind thing—nobody likes feeling watched. But for what I saved (like $40/month), I decided I could tune out the “Big Brother” vibes. Not sure I’d feel the same if I had a lead foot, though.

One thing I did notice: on a recent trip, the tracker glitched and logged a bunch of miles while my car was parked. That was annoying, but customer service fixed it pretty quick. Not perfect tech, but not a dealbreaker for me.

I guess for folks who drive a ton or get nervous about being monitored, maybe it’s not worth the trade-off. But if you’re already cautious behind the wheel (like me), it can actually pay off. Just my two cents… sometimes the extra cash is worth a little weirdness.

I totally get what you mean about the tracker feeling weird at first. I’ve had a few clients mention that same “Big Brother” vibe, but like you said, it fades once you realize it’s just counting miles. That glitch you mentioned—

the tracker glitched and logged a bunch of miles while my car was parked
—happens more than people think, but it’s good to hear customer service sorted it out fast. Honestly, for folks who don’t rack up tons of miles, the savings can really add up over time. It’s not for everyone, but it sounds like you found your groove with it.

Honestly, I was super skeptical at first too—felt like my car was being watched by the FBI or something. But after a month, I barely notice it. The glitch thing happened to me once and I panicked, but support fixed it quick. If you’re not driving cross-country every weekend, the savings are actually pretty decent.

I get what you mean about the “being watched” vibe—took me a while to stop glancing at the little tracker thing. I’m curious, did you notice if your driving habits changed at all once you knew it was tracking? I started braking softer and taking corners slower, just in case it dinged me for something. Not sure if that actually affects the savings or if I’m just being paranoid...
