Sometimes peace of mind’s worth more than an extra chrome trim anyway...

I can relate. Years ago, I bumped my ‘68 Charger in the garage—just a tiny dent, but with my high deductible, fixing it stung way more than it should’ve. I tend to err on the side of caution now. The little bit extra each month feels like cheap insurance against those “oops” moments.

I totally get where you’re coming from. I’m still learning, but my parents always say it’s better to pay a little extra each month than be stuck with a huge bill after a fender bender. My friend went with a super high deductible to save money—then she backed into a pole at the grocery store and had to pay almost everything out of pocket. That kinda made up my mind for me. Peace of mind just feels worth it, especially when you’re new behind the wheel.

Yeah, I totally hear you on the peace of mind thing. I once tried to be "smart" and picked a high deductible because I figured, hey, I'm a careful driver, what could go wrong? Fast forward to me getting rear-ended at a stoplight by a guy who was more interested in his burger than the road... and suddenly my wallet was crying. The monthly savings just didn't make up for that giant hit all at once. I’d rather pay a bit more each month and not have to stress every time I park near a shopping cart corral.

Man, I get where you’re coming from. I went with a lower deductible after my first fender bender in the S-Class—repair costs were eye-watering, even for a tiny scratch. For me, peace of mind is worth the higher monthly. The stress just isn’t worth it, especially with all the unpredictable drivers out there.

- Totally get this. After I got rear-ended last winter (barely tapped, but the bill was nuts), I switched to a lower deductible too.
- For me:
- City driving = higher risk
- Fancy cars = expensive repairs
- I’d rather pay a bit more each month than panic every time someone tailgates me...
- Maybe it’s not for everyone, but I sleep better at night knowing one accident won’t wipe out my savings.
