AAA’s been the only one that hasn’t let me down, honestly. I drive a late-model Benz, and none of the “premium” insurance options really step up when you’re stranded out here. The 15-mile tow thing is a joke—my last breakdown was 40+ miles from the nearest town, and my regular policy wanted me to pay out of pocket for most of it. Ended up using AAA Premier, which covered the whole distance. Still waited a couple hours, but at least I wasn’t arguing with some call center about coverage.
I agree on local agents—most just sell policies and don’t know Wyoming roads from a hole in the ground. The ones who actually live out here are rare, but worth finding. I won’t bother with “roadside assistance” from my main insurer anymore. Not enough value, especially if you drive anything that’s expensive to tow or hard to get parts for. Just not worth the risk. Read the fine print, always.
