Have you checked out their safety discounts? Progressive gave me a decent break for defensive driving courses. Might help offset those tickets... Did Geico offer anything similar when you looked into it?
I actually switched from Geico to Progressive last year here in NY, mostly because of the defensive driving discount. Geico did offer something similar, but honestly, Progressive's discount seemed a bit better at the time. Plus, Progressive had this snapshot thingβtracks your driving habits for a while and gives you another discount if you're careful. Worked out pretty well for me, even though I was skeptical at first (didn't love the idea of being monitored, lol). But hey, saving money is saving money. Might be worth checking if Geico has stepped up their game recently thoughβthings change fast with these companies.

I tried Snapshot too, but let's just say my driving style didn't exactly earn me any gold stars, lol. If you're a bit of a lead foot or have some tickets under your belt (like yours truly), Geico might actually be more forgiving. Progressive's discounts are great IF you drive like grandma...but for us high-risk folks, Geico sometimes comes out cheaper overall. Just something to keep in mind before you commit.
Haha, Snapshot would probably have a meltdown if it tracked my weekend drives in the Mustang...
- Tried Progressive once, but their rates jumped after one speeding ticketβfelt like detention all over again.
- Geico's been pretty chill about my occasional "spirited" driving habits. Rates stayed reasonable even after a minor fender-bender.
- Honestly, if your driving record isn't squeaky clean, Geico might save you some headaches (and cash).
- But hey, if you ever decide to cruise at grandma speeds, Progressive's discounts are legit.
Haha, Snapshot would probably blacklist me after my last road trip... took the scenic route through the Adirondacks and let's just say, the curves were calling my name a bit too loudly. Geico didn't penalize me much for a speeding ticket I got upstateβfelt like they shrugged it off as "just another weekend." Curious though, has anyone noticed if Progressive eases up after a while, or do they keep holding grudges forever?
