I've been looking into bundling my home and auto insurance to save some cash, and two options keep popping up: State Farm and Progressive. Both seem decent, but I'm kinda stuck deciding between them. State Farm seems to have solid customer service reviews, and my neighbor swears by them after a tree fell on his garage (long story, lol). Progressive, though, is quoting me a bit lower overall and has that whole "name your price" thing going on, which seems handy.
Thing is, I'm wondering if the slightly cheaper price from Progressive is worth potentially dealing with less personal service if something actually happens. I mean, saving money upfront is great and all, but if I have to jump through hoops later...you know?
Anyone here have experience bundling with either of these companies? Curious to hear how it went for you and if you'd recommend one over the other.
I've bundled with Progressive for about two years now. Here's my quick take:
- Pricing was definitely attractive upfront, saved me a decent chunk.
- Had one minor claim (fender bender), and it went smoothly enough, but communication felt a bit impersonal—mostly online forms and automated updates.
- Haven't had major home claims yet, so can't speak to that.
Honestly, I'm also curious if the savings are worth it when something big happens...anyone here had a serious home claim with Progressive?
