anyone else annoyed by how vague insurance is about theft and vandalism?

I was going through my car insurance policy today (fun times, right?) and realized just how annoyingly vague they are when it comes to theft or vandalism. Like, they say "comprehensive coverage" but when you actually read the fine print, it's all these weird exceptions and unclear definitions. I mean, if someone keys my car or steals my stereo, I wanna know exactly what's covered without having to decode insurance-speak.

A friend of mine had his window smashed last month, and he thought he was covered until the insurance company started nitpicking about "intentional damage" vs. "random vandalism." Um, isn't all vandalism intentional? It just feels like they're always looking for loopholes to avoid paying out.

Maybe I'm just paranoid or something, but it seems like they purposely keep things fuzzy so they can wiggle out of claims. Curious if anyone else has had similar frustrations or maybe I'm just unlucky with my insurer...

Haha, exactly my thought when I first read my policy. I had a similar headache last year when someone swiped my side mirror overnight. Thought it was straightforward vandalism, but nopeβ€”insurance started grilling me about whether it was "malicious intent" or just an "accident." Like, did someone accidentally karate-chop my mirror off? 🙄 Honestly, feels like they purposely keep it vague to dodge payouts. You're definitely not alone in this frustration...

Haha, seriously... makes you wonder how insurance defines "accidental." Like, if someone trips and dents your hoodβ€”is that vandalism or just clumsiness? Feels like they're splitting hairs on purpose sometimes.
