Had to wait for diagnostics, more photos...

I get where you’re coming from, but honestly, I’d rather deal with the extra diagnostics if it means my car’s safety features are working right. The tech can be a pain during repairs, sure, but it’s saved me from a couple close calls on the highway. I guess for me, the “peace of mind” wins out over the “peace of process.” That said, I’ve found USAA’s app makes the claim steps a bit smoother than State Farm’s, at least in my experience.

I hear you on the diagnostics—my last claim felt like my car was auditioning for a medical drama with all the scans and photos. But hey, better safe than sorry, right? I’ve had customers swear by USAA’s app, but I’ve also seen folks get tripped up by tech glitches or missing info. Ever had a claim where the app just... didn’t cooperate? Or is it usually smooth sailing for you?

USAA’s app is decent when it works, but I’ve had it freeze mid-upload more than once. Not exactly ideal when you’re standing in a parking lot trying to photograph a dented fender. Honestly, sometimes I just call and skip the tech altogether.

I totally get the frustration with apps freezing up, especially when you’re already dealing with a fender bender. That’s the last thing you need in that moment. Honestly, you’re not alone—tech is great when it works, but sometimes the old-fashioned phone call just feels easier and less stressful.

If you ever do want to give the app another shot, I’ve found that closing out all other apps first can help with those mid-upload freezes. Also, snapping the photos with your phone’s camera app before uploading can save a lot of hassle if the app crashes—you won’t lose your pics that way. And if you’re in a spot with spotty service, sometimes waiting until you’re on WiFi makes a difference.

But hey, if calling works better for you, there’s nothing wrong with sticking to what’s reliable. At the end of the day, the goal is to get your claim handled with as little headache as possible, right?

Yeah, that’s really what matters. I’m new to all this and honestly, the idea of an app crashing mid-claim stresses me out way more than just talking to a real person. I’ve heard State Farm’s phone reps are actually pretty patient, which is reassuring for someone like me who’s still figuring out the process. But I do like the tip about saving photos first—that’s smart, especially if nerves make you forget stuff in the moment.
