I hear you—USAA’s bundling pitch sounds great, but when I actually compared quotes, the numbers just didn’t add up for me either. I get the loyalty thing, but at the end of the day, if splitting policies saves a few hundred bucks, why not? Sometimes the “one-stop shop” convenience isn’t worth the premium.
I totally get that. When I first got my license, my parents thought bundling everything with USAA would be a no-brainer. But when we ran the numbers, it was actually cheaper for me to stick with just auto there and get renter’s elsewhere. The convenience sounded nice, but saving money won out... especially on a student budget.
