I've used digital proof here in SD a couple times, and it worked fine both times. But honestly, still safer sticking with paper as backup—if your phone dies or the app crashes right when you need it, you're kinda stuck. My approach: keep a printed copy in the glovebox at all times, but go digital day-to-day. Covers all bases without breaking the bank...and avoids awkward roadside tech support sessions with officers, lol.

Yeah, digital's convenient but I've had apps glitch at the worst times. Your glovebox backup idea makes sense—cheap insurance against Murphy's law. Might have to start doing that myself...

I've been doing the glovebox thing for years now—saved my butt more than once. Digital's great until your phone battery dies or the app decides to freeze at the exact moment you're pulled over (been there, done that...). Honestly, a paper backup costs practically nothing and takes zero effort. Might seem old-school, but it's one less headache when things inevitably go sideways. Good call on considering it.

Been keeping paper copies in the glovebox myself for years, too—it's just common sense. Couple quick points:

- Digital's convenient, sure, but tech glitches happen at the worst times (Murphy's law, right?).
- Paper backup is practically foolproof and costs almost nothing.
- SD law actually allows digital proof now, but officers still appreciate paper as a reliable fallback.

Bottom line, having both covers your bases. Better safe than sorry when you're roadside and stressed...

I've actually stopped keeping paper copies altogether. A couple years back, my glovebox leaked during a heavy rainstorm (old car problems...) and turned everything into unreadable mush. Ever since, I've relied solely on digital proof stored offline on my phone. Never had an issue with officers accepting it either. Paper's fine, but it's not foolproof—just ask my soggy registration papers.
