"Plus, less clutter means less chance of losing something important, right?"
True, but digital isn't foolproof either. Last winter, my phone died unexpectedly during a snowstorm—charger didn't help much then. Luckily, I still had paper copies tucked away. Guess I'm just cautious...or old-school.
Digital backups are handy, but what happens if your cloud account gets locked or hacked? I've had friends lose access unexpectedly...paper copies might be old-school, but aren't they a safer bet sometimes?
Yeah, digital backups are convenient until they're suddenly not accessible. Had a similar scare on a road trip—my phone locked me out of my cloud account right when I needed insurance docs. Luckily, I'd stashed a paper copy in the glove box. Felt old-school at the time, but it saved me some serious hassle. Sometimes, the cautious route pays off...
Glad you mentioned the paper copy thing, because honestly, I was wondering if anyone still did that! I'm buying insurance for the first time and now I'm thinking maybe I should print out a copy too, just in case. Do most states actually accept digital copies, or is South Dakota strict about needing physical ones? I'd rather not find out the hard way...
Yeah, printing out a copy isn't a bad idea at all. I've had my share of run-ins (speeding tickets mostly, unfortunately...) and even though SD does accept digital proof, sometimes your phone battery dies or the app glitches right when you need it. Learned that one the hard way myself. Having a physical backup tucked in your glovebox can save you some hassle—especially if you're prone to bad luck like me, lol. Better safe than sorry, right?
