My car's warranty just expired, and I'm debating whether to get a standalone roadside assistance membership (like AAA or something similar) or just add roadside coverage to my current auto insurance. I've heard memberships can offer extra perks like discounts at hotels and stuff, but insurance add-ons seem cheaper overall. Um, anyone have experience with either option? Is the extra cost of membership actually worth it in real-life situations?

That's a fair pointβI've had both, and while the insurance add-on was definitely cheaper, the membership perks did come in handy during a road trip once. Depends how often you travel, I guess...
