So I finally caved and got one of those Snapshot things from Progressive. Figured, hey, I'm a decent driver, might as well save some cash. But now every time I brake a little too hard or accelerate quickly to merge onto the freeway, I feel like it's silently judging me, lol. Yesterday I caught myself apologizing out loud to the little device after a sharp turn. Anyone else feel weirdly self-conscious with these telematics gadgets in your car?
Haha, I totally get that feeling. When I first installed mine, I swear I drove like my grandma for the first week—super cautious, slow braking, gentle acceleration...the whole deal. Then one day, I had to slam on the brakes because someone cut me off, and my first thought wasn't even about safety—it was "great, Snapshot's gonna ding me for that." Eventually, I relaxed a bit, but yeah, it definitely makes you hyper-aware of your driving habits.
