That’s interesting about the drone—never would’ve thought to try that. I’ve always wondered, though, if you keep tools or emergency gear in your car for work, does it matter if you use the car for business or personal stuff? Seems like that could get messy with claims.

Yeah, that’s a tricky one. I’ve had clients run into headaches because they kept work stuff in their car but used it for personal errands too. Insurance companies can get picky—if you’re hauling tools for work and something happens, they might say you need a commercial policy, even if you’re just grabbing groceries that day. It’s not always black and white, which is kind of annoying. I usually tell folks to double-check what their policy actually covers... those fine print details can bite you later.

Had a similar issue a while back—thought my regular policy had me covered, but turns out carrying my work gear around was a gray area. Ended up paying out of pocket for a busted window. Those little details really do matter... insurance fine print is no joke.

Totally get it—fine print can be brutal. Seen a lot of folks surprised when “personal use” doesn’t cover work gear, or even just stuff left in the car. Here are a couple quick things I always tell people:

- Double-check if your policy covers “business property” in your vehicle—most don’t by default.
- Sometimes you need a small business add-on, even if you’re just hauling a laptop and some tools.
- Glass breakage isn’t always included in comprehensive coverage. Weird, right?

It’s wild how policy wording trips people up... I’ve had clients swear they were covered for everything under the sun until we went line by line. Insurance is like a choose-your-own-adventure book, but with more paperwork and fewer dragons.

That’s a pretty accurate way to put it. I always tell folks—don’t assume your “roadside help” covers everything either. With Progressive, for example, did you know they sometimes reimburse for towing if you arrange it yourself? But only if you call them first. It’s buried in the details, and missing that step can mean you’re out of pocket. Have you ever actually read through the roadside assistance section? Some of those exclusions are wild... like, they won’t cover winching if you’re more than 100 feet from a public road. Who measures that?
