Yep, nailed it. Had a similar wake-up call when some guy backed into my '68 Mustang at a meet-up. Thought I knew my policy inside out—turns out I was clueless about classic car coverage specifics. Dashcam's a no-brainer now, paranoia or not. Better safe than sorry... especially when dealing with insurance companies.

Totally get the dashcam thing... had my own "aha" moment last winter. Slid on some black ice and tapped a parked car—minor scratch, but still. Thought my coverage was solid, but turns out I hadn't opted for rental reimbursement. Who knew? Makes me wonder, how many other little details are we all missing until it's too late? Insurance fine print is sneaky stuff...

Dashcams definitely help clear things up, but you're right—insurance fine print can be sneaky. Ever checked if your policy covers OEM parts after repairs? Little details like that can make a big difference when you least expect it...

Dashcams are useful, sure, but do they always help as much as people think? I've seen cases where footage actually complicated things—like when angles or lighting made it hard to clearly determine fault. And about OEM parts...are they always the best choice? Sometimes aftermarket parts can be just as reliable and way cheaper. Ever compared the two directly after repairs? Curious if anyone noticed a real difference in quality or performance...

I've wondered about this too, but honestly, have you ever had issues with fitment? I tried aftermarket headlights once—saved a decent chunk of cash—but the alignment was slightly off and adjusting them was a pain. Maybe it depends on the part or brand...but I'm still skeptical about going aftermarket for critical components. Anyone else had better luck?
