My current insurance provider has been kind of meh lately... premiums went up again without any heads-up, and customer service is pretty much non-existent these days. I'm thinking it's time to switch things up, but honestly, insurance shopping gives me a headache. 😅
Anyone got an insurance company they're actually happy with here in NM? I'm looking mostly at auto/home bundles, but open to separate providers too if the rates are decent. Preferably a company that's easy to deal with if you ever have to file a claim (fingers crossed I won't have to, but you know how it goes).
Heard some mixed things about local vs. national companies, so I'm curious what your experiences have been. Any names I should definitely check out or steer clear of?

Yeah, I've been down that road myself... insurance shopping is definitely not my idea of fun. I've had both local and national providers here in NM over the years, and honestly, there's pros and cons to each. Local companies can be great for personalized serviceβlike actually talking to a human being who knows your areaβbut sometimes their tech and online services lag behind. National providers usually have slicker apps and websites, but customer service can be hit-or-miss depending on the rep you get.
Right now, I'm with USAA (if you qualify, they're pretty solid), and they've been consistently good with claims and customer support. Before that, I had State Farm, and while their rates weren't the absolute cheapest, they were reliable when I had a fender-bender a few years back. Have you looked into bundling discounts specifically? Sometimes the savings there can make a pricier provider worth it.
