Yeah, that's pretty much been my worry about smaller insurers too. I've heard similar stories—nothing disastrous, but definitely slower than you'd like when you're already stressed from an accident. Makes me wonder if the savings are really worth it in the long run. Has anyone had a smaller insurer actually surprise them with quick service, or is this just the norm...?
Had a similar worry myself when I switched to a smaller insurer a couple years back—figured I'd roll the dice to save a bit. Then, of course, I had a fender-bender (my luck, right?). Surprisingly, they were pretty quick! Not lightning-fast, mind you, but definitely faster than the horror stories I'd braced myself for. Guess it's hit or miss, but sometimes the little guys can surprise you...though I still hold my breath every renewal season, lol.
