I hear you on the deer thing—my poor old Camry met its end thanks to a buck outside Bardstown. My agent didn’t just know the tow guy, she actually called the body shop to make sure they’d seen “another one from out by the quarry.” I use the app for paying bills, but when it’s crunch time, I want someone who knows the backroads and doesn’t need GPS to find me. National hotlines are fine until you’re trying to explain which “Smith Road” you’re on... and there’s three in the county.

I totally get the “which Smith Road” struggle—been there, circled back, and still ended up at the wrong mailbox. Honestly, I’d rather have a local agent who knows the difference between “the old mill road” and “the new Smith Road” than a fancy app any day. The big companies are fine for paperwork, but when you’re stuck in a ditch at midnight, it’s the folks who know the area that actually show up. I’ve switched twice and always go back to someone with a real office in town... just seems safer when you drive the backroads as much as I do.

Yeah, I hear you—local agents just know the lay of the land better. I’ve seen claims get delayed because the adjuster couldn’t even find the right gravel drive. Big companies might save a few bucks, but if you’re out in the sticks, local’s worth it.

I get the whole “local knows best” thing, but I’ve had mixed luck. My uncle swears by his local guy, but when I tried one, they kept losing my paperwork and acted like I was bothering them. Ended up going with a bigger company just because their app actually worked and I could get someone on the phone after 5pm. Maybe it’s just hit or miss depending on who you get? Small town service isn’t always a guarantee, at least in my experience.

Man, I thought going local would mean I’d get the “neighborly” treatment. Instead, it felt like I was interrupting their lunch break every time I called. At one point, my quote got lost in the Bermuda Triangle of their filing cabinet. Ended up picking a big company just because their website didn’t crash on me. Maybe it’s just luck of the draw… or maybe my face just screams “please misplace my forms.”
