just saw a story about a guy in Kansas whose car got totaled by hail, and turns out his insurance didn't cover it.

"Luckily my coverage came through, but it definitely made me double-check everything afterward... lesson learned the hard way, I guess."

Haha, been there. Had a similar "wake-up call" when a random shopping cart decided to roll into my parked Corollaβ€”thought for sure they'd find some loophole. Thankfully, insurance actually covered it (miracle, right?), but now I'm that guy squinting suspiciously at every line of fine print. Glad yours worked out too; insurance anxiety is no joke.

Haha, seriously. Reminds me of when a tree branch fell on our minivan during a storm. I was convinced they'd call it an "act of nature" or something equally vague to dodge paying. Surprisingly, they covered it without much fuss, but ever since then I triple-check every renewal notice. Curious though, anyone had experience with flood damage? Always wondered how tricky that coverage gets...

Flood damage can get pretty tricky from what I've heard. My cousin's car got flooded during a road trip down south, and turns out standard comprehensive didn't cover itβ€”needed separate flood insurance. Definitely worth double-checking your policy details...

Yeah, flood stuff can be messy. Had an old Mustang get waterlogged after a big storm onceβ€”thought comprehensive would cover it, but turns out there was a sneaky clause about "natural flooding events." Always pays to read the fine print, I guess...

Yeah, insurance companies always find a way to wiggle out of paying. Had a buddy whose classic Camaro got nailed by hailβ€”thought he was covered too, but turns out his policy excluded "cosmetic damage." Seriously? Dents the size of golf balls aren't cosmetic. Always gotta double-check those sneaky clauses...
