Yeah, I hear you on the loyalty thing. I drive a higher-end car and figured sticking with the same insurer would help, but nope—rates just crept up every year for no clear reason. The low mileage discounts are all over the place too. I barely put 5,000 miles on mine last year and still got told it “wasn’t low enough.” It’s frustrating, but shopping around really does pay off. Glad you found a better deal—sometimes it feels like that’s the only way to keep them honest.

Funny you mention the low mileage thing—I had the same experience. Drove less than 6,000 miles last year and my agent basically shrugged. I’ve even tried calling around and some companies don’t seem to care unless you’re under 3,000. Makes you wonder if any of those discounts are real or just marketing. I do agree, loyalty doesn’t seem to mean much anymore.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too. I used to think being with the same company for years would help, but nope. Last year, I barely drove—maybe 5,500 miles—and my rate didn’t budge. It’s like unless you’re barely using your car at all, they just don’t care. I remember when low mileage actually meant something... guess those days are gone.

I hear you—it’s frustrating when loyalty doesn’t seem to count for much. I’ve tracked my mileage for years, thinking it’d help, but the discounts barely move the needle. Sometimes I wonder if switching every couple years is actually smarter, even though it feels risky.

I get why switching sounds appealing, but I’m not convinced it always pays off. A few years back, I changed providers for a lower rate, only to have my premium jump the next renewal. Sometimes sticking with one company helps if you ever need to file a claim—they know your history. Just makes me wonder if the grass is really greener or just looks that way at first glance...
