Good points about documenting unusual events, but realistically, how often do insurers actually reconsider their labels based on driver-submitted evidence? From my experience, it seems like once you're flagged as risky, it's an uphill battle to change their mindsβ€”even with solid proof. Curious if anyone here's successfully challenged their insurer and had their premiums adjusted accordingly...

I've heard it's tough, but not impossible. A friend of mine actually got their premium adjusted after submitting dashcam footage showing another driver clearly at fault. Took a while and some persistence, but insurers do budge sometimes...rarely, though.

Yeah, insurers can be stubborn for sure. Dashcams seem like a lifesaver in these situations. Wonder if anyone's had luck disputing a risky driver label without video evidenceβ€”just witness statements or police reports?

Witness statements and police reports can definitely help, but insurers tend to trust cold, hard evidence more. Had a friend who got labeled risky after someone rear-ended himβ€”crazy, right? He fought it with just witness statements and the police report. Took months of back-and-forth, but eventually they backed down. Dashcams are great, but if you're tight on cash like me, solid paperwork and persistence can still do the trick...just gotta have patience.

Your friend's experience sounds pretty familiar. A couple years back, someone sideswiped me in a parking lot and took off. Even with witnesses and a police report, my insurer initially bumped up my premiums, labeling me as higher risk. It felt totally unfair, but I kept detailed notes, photos of the damage, and followed up regularly. Took forever, but eventually they reversed it. You're rightβ€”persistence and thorough documentation can really pay off, even without fancy tech like dashcams. Glad your friend got it sorted in the end.
