Yeah, totally agree—telematics can be a mixed bag here. I tried it with my last policy and honestly, the system flagged me for “aggressive” braking just dodging wildlife or tourists who suddenly stop. Not exactly fair. I’ve noticed luxury models sometimes get even more scrutiny, probably because repairs cost more. If you drive something higher-end, it’s worth asking if the insurer’s device takes that into account, or if they’re just lumping everyone together. Some of these programs feel like they’re built for mainland traffic, not island chaos...

Yeah, I’ve run into the same thing with telematics—sometimes it feels like the system just doesn’t get how unpredictable driving here can be. I get flagged for “hard braking” just avoiding chickens or mopeds darting out. It’s frustrating, but I’ve found it helps to keep a log of weird incidents, just in case you need to explain a spike in your data. Not sure if all insurers care, but it’s saved me once or twice. And totally agree about luxury cars—my friend’s insurance went way up after switching to a BMW, even though he drives like a grandma. Guess they just see dollar signs when it comes to repairs...
