I'm still new to this whole insurance thing, so any tips on making the switch less painful would be awesome. Anyway, thanks for sharing your experience—it gives me hope that maybe I won't forever...

Switching wasn't too bad for me, just had to double-check the fine print on cancellation fees. But honestly, mileage-based insurance sounds tempting—especially since trackers punish us cautious drivers for, you know, actually stopping at lights... Has anyone tried pay-per-mile insurance around here?

I looked into pay-per-mile briefly last year—seemed great at first glance, but when I ran the numbers, savings weren't huge for our family. Might work better if your mileage is really low though...worth crunching your numbers to see.

I checked out pay-per-mile too, thinking it might be a hidden gem since I commute daily but don't do much else driving-wise. At first glance, it seemed like a no-brainer—why pay full price if I'm mostly just going to work and back, right? But when I actually sat down and did the math, it was surprisingly close to what I was already paying. Not exactly the jackpot savings I was hoping for.

I guess it really depends on your driving habits. Like, if you're someone who works from home or only drives occasionally, it could be a sweet deal. But for me, even though my commute isn't super long, it's consistent enough that the per-mile charges added up quicker than I expected. Plus, there's always that random weekend road trip or unexpected errands that pop up and throw off the calculations.

One thing I did notice though—some companies offer discounts if you use their tracking app or device. I was hesitant at first (privacy concerns and all that), but a friend of mine tried it and said it wasn't too intrusive. He ended up saving a decent chunk because he's a pretty cautious driver. I'm still on the fence about letting an insurance company track my every move, but hey, if you're comfortable with it, might be worth looking into.

Has anyone else found any other quirky discounts or hacks specific to Delaware? Seems like every state has its own little insurance quirks...

I totally get your hesitation about the tracking apps—felt the same way at first. But honestly, after driving my Audi around Wilmington for a few months with one installed, it wasn't nearly as intrusive as I expected. Ended up saving a decent amount too, since luxury cars usually have higher premiums. Might be worth giving it a shot, especially if you're a careful driver...just make sure to read the fine print first.

I see your point, but man...I just can't shake the feeling of being watched every time I drive my Mustang. I tried one of those apps briefly and felt like I was driving my grandma around—no fun at all. Maybe it's better suited for newer cars, but for classics...not convinced yet.
