That’s the thing—sometimes I wonder if having both an online setup and an agent just means double the hassle. But I get it, local quirks can trip you up. I once thought my PIP covered way more than it did... learned that lesson the hard way. You’re right though, a good agent who actually calls back makes a world of difference.

Can’t argue with you on the PIP thing—those little details in the fine print love to sneak up on people. I’ve seen way too many folks assume they’re covered for everything, then get blindsided. Having both online tools and a real agent can feel like overkill, but honestly, when something actually goes wrong, that call-back from a human who knows Delaware’s quirks is worth it. Still, I get the hassle factor... sometimes I wonder if we’re just making it all more complicated than it needs to be.

I get where you’re coming from about having both online and a real agent, but honestly, I’ve found the online tools are catching up fast. I switched to managing everything through an app last year—claims, documents, even chat support—and it was way less hassle than calling someone every time I had a question. The local quirks are annoying, sure, but if you dig around in the FAQs, most of it’s covered. Maybe I’m just tired of endless phone tag...

Totally get the appeal of managing everything online—those apps have gotten way better lately. I will say, though, sometimes Delaware throws a curveball with regulations or weird local discounts that aren’t obvious in the app. A lot of folks don’t realize there are regional add-ons or even safe driver perks you can only spot if you dig around or ask someone in the know. Still, if you’re not a fan of phone tag (who is?), those chat features really do take the sting out of it. It’s all about what feels less stressful at the end of the day.

That’s a solid point about the apps—they’re super convenient, but sometimes they just don’t show you everything. Delaware’s got some oddball rules and perks that aren’t front and center. Here’s how I usually tell people to dig a little deeper:

First, check if your insurer actually lists regional discounts anywhere on their website (not just the app). Sometimes there’s a “Delaware-specific” page buried in the FAQ or under a resources tab. Next, call or use the chat to ask directly about safe driver programs or low-mileage discounts. I know, not everyone loves chatting, but I’ve seen folks save a decent chunk just by asking about something that wasn’t in their quote.

Another thing—if you’re a student or have a teen driver, Delaware sometimes offers extra perks for good grades or driver’s ed that don’t pop up automatically. And if you’re bundling with renters or homeowners, the discount can be bigger here than in other states (no clue why, but it’s worth checking).

Honestly, sometimes it feels like you need a secret decoder ring for insurance here... but poking around a bit usually pays off.
