I'm new to this whole insurance thing, but honestly, the more I read these stories, the more it feels like they're intentionally vague. Like, shouldn't clear terms be the bare minimum when we're paying them every month...? Seems kinda backwards to me.

Insurance policies can definitely feel vague sometimes, but from my experience, it's often because they're trying to cover every possible scenario (which is basically impossible). Have you checked the section about "permissive use" in your policy? That's usually where they outline what happens if someone else drives your car. It's one of those things most people overlook until something actually happens...and then it's too late. Maybe worth a quick read-through just to be safe.

Had a similar headache a few years back when I lent my '68 Mustang to a buddy for his wedding weekend. Thought it was no big deal—until he scraped the side pulling into a tight parking spot. Insurance got real cagey about coverage because apparently "classic car" policies have their own weird rules about permissive use. Took weeks of back-and-forth before they finally covered it. Definitely learned my lesson about reading the fine print...
