- The odometer photo thing is a pain, but I get why they want it. I’ve had to dig through my phone for old pics more than once when I forgot.
- Mileage cap definitely makes me think twice about spontaneous drives. Sometimes I just want to take the long way home, you know?
- On the plus side, the premium savings are real. My regular policy was almost double what I pay now.
- One trick: I keep a little notepad in the glovebox and jot down mileage after each drive. Not perfect, but it helps me stay under the cap.
- Honestly, as long as you’re not abusing it, most insurers seem pretty chill if you’re close on miles or late with a photo. Just don’t make a habit of it...

Mileage caps are a double-edged sword, right? I mean, the savings are sweet, but I’ve definitely found myself calculating routes like I’m planning a moon landing. Ever tried snapping a photo of your odometer in a dim garage? Feels like a weird selfie contest. The notepad trick is solid, though—beats scrolling through a year’s worth of dog pics to find your last mileage check. Honestly, as long as you’re not racking up cross-country road trips every weekend, most companies just want to see you’re playing fair.
