anyone else feel like AAA insurance isn't what it used to be?

I've noticed the same thing lately. AAA used to be my go-to, but after waiting almost two hours last month for a simple jump-start, I'm definitely questioning it. Might be time to shop around a bit...

- Had a similar issue recently, waited forever just to get a tire changed.
- AAA used to feel reliable, now it’s hit or miss...
- Worth checking out local roadside optionsβ€”sometimes smaller outfits surprise you.

I get the appeal of smaller services, but honestly, aren't they just as unpredictable? My dad tried a local place once and ended up waiting even longer than AAA. Sure, AAA isn't perfect these days (had my own frustrating wait last month), but at least there's some accountability with a bigger company. Smaller outfits can be great...or they can ghost you completely. Guess it's always a gamble either way.

Haha, true story right there. Honestly, roadside assistance is kinda like ordering takeoutβ€”sometimes the hole-in-the-wall place nails it, other times you're left hungry and annoyed. AAA's definitely slipped a bit lately, but at least you know they'll eventually show up. Hang in there...hopefully your next flat tire or dead battery happens near a coffee shop or something to ease the wait.

I had a similar experience recently. Got a flat tire after class and figured AAA would be quick since it was mid-afternoon and not exactly rush hour. Nope...waited almost two hours in a parking lot, and when the guy finally showed up, he seemed pretty rushed and barely said two words. I get they're busy, but it definitely felt different from when my parents used them years agoβ€”back then, it seemed like they'd show up quickly and actually take the time to explain stuff.

Do you think it's just AAA that's changed, or is roadside assistance in general getting worse? Maybe it's just more demand now or fewer drivers available? Either way, I'm seriously considering learning how to change a tire myself...seems like it'd save a lot of hassle.
