Yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing lately. Used to be, you’d call AAA and someone would show up before you even had time to get bored scrolling your phone. Now, it feels like you’re just waiting... and waiting. I had a flat tire last month, middle of the afternoon, and it still took them over an hour to get there. Not a huge deal since I wasn’t stranded somewhere sketchy, but still kind of disappointing compared to what I remember.

I do think part of it is just more people using the service now—maybe they’re not keeping up with demand? But honestly, for what they charge, especially if you’ve got a couple dings on your record or an older car like me, it’s tough to find something better price-wise. I’ve looked around at other roadside assistance programs but most of them either cost more or have weird restrictions.

I guess it’s one of those “you get what you pay for” situations. Not perfect anymore, but unless something better comes along, I’ll probably stick with them... just wish they’d step their game back up.

Yeah, I get what you’re saying.

That’s been my experience too—last winter I was stuck on the shoulder for almost two hours. Honestly, I’m with you on the price vs. what you get. Even after poking around at other options, AAA still seems to be the least hassle overall. Maybe it’s just a sign of the times—more people on the road, more calls, slower service. Still, would be nice if they could speed things up again.

Yeah, I hear you. The wait times have definitely gotten longer—last time I called for a jump, it took almost 90 minutes. Not the end of the world, but still a pain when you’ve got kids in the car. I’ve looked at a couple of the newer roadside apps, but honestly, I’m not sure they’d be any faster or cheaper. Has anyone actually switched and noticed a real difference, or is it just more of the same?

Yeah, I’ve noticed the same thing with AAA lately. I just got my first policy a few months ago, and honestly, I picked them because everyone said they were super reliable. But my first experience wasn’t great—locked my keys in the car at the grocery store, figured it’d be a quick fix, but I ended up waiting over an hour. Not exactly what I expected after hearing all the hype.

I’ve looked into those newer roadside apps too, but I’m kinda hesitant. Some of them seem cheaper up front, but then you dig into the reviews and there’s a lot of mixed feedback. Plus, I worry about what happens if something goes wrong—like, are they even insured properly? I guess I just feel a little safer sticking with a bigger name, even if it’s not as fast as it used to be.

It’s frustrating though. I get that things are slower everywhere right now, but when you’re stuck on the side of the road, every minute feels like forever. Especially if you’re not somewhere safe or you’ve got kids with you. I almost bought one of those portable jump starters just to avoid having to call anyone at all. Might be worth it for the peace of mind.

Anyway, I’m still on the fence about switching. I’d rather pay a bit more and know I’m covered, but if things keep dragging out, I might have to rethink it.

Honestly, I get the hesitation with those newer roadside apps, but I actually tried one (HONK, I think?) when my battery died last winter. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but they got someone out in like 25 minutes—way faster than AAA ever managed for me. I do still keep AAA for the insurance and discounts, but for actual roadside stuff, these apps aren’t as sketchy as I thought. Maybe it’s just luck of the draw, but it might be worth trying at least once. Those portable jump starters are a lifesaver too... I keep one in my trunk now, just in case.
