RE: Bundling insurance with USAA: worth it or just hype?
Bundling with USAA isn’t a magic bullet, but here’s what I’ve noticed after years of juggling policies: - The initial discount is real, but it’s not huge. Maybe 5-10% off, depending on what you bundle. - - I get that. ...
RE: If You Had To Switch Insurance In Kentucky, Who Would You Trust?
Never had an agent actually go through every exclusion, just the highlights. I always ask about aftermarket parts and rental coverage - learned the hard way when my old Camry got hit and they tried to stick me with junky...
RE: What happens if your rideshare app is between trips and you get into an accident?
Honestly, I get wanting peace of mind, but I’m not convinced the extra coverage is always worth it. Here’s my take: - - I looked into those add-ons and the price adds up over time. For me, the math didn’t make sense un...
RE: Why does insurance cost more in Houston than Austin or Dallas?
Title: Why does insurance cost more in Houston than Austin or Dallas? - Flooding is a big deal - my neighbor’s car floated away last year and he wasn’t even parked on a street. - Traffic’s nuts, but honestly, I thin...
RE: Why did my GEICO premium jump so much this year?
- Same boat here - my renewal just came in and it’s up by $200, even though I haven’t changed a thing. - No accidents, no tickets, nothing fancy about my car. - I called to ask and got the “market conditions” line too....
RE: Getting that student discount on car insurance… not as easy as I thought
- Totally get this. Those apps seem to ding you for stuff you can’t control - like, what am I supposed to do if a delivery truck slams on the brakes? - I’m all for saving money, but I’d rather skip the Big Brother stuff ...
RE: Rental car insurance: worth it or just a money grab?
- Totally get the pain of those daily insurance fees. - I usually skip the rental company’s coverage and rely on my credit card too - never had a claim, but I keep all the docs just in case. - Only exception: if I’m ...
RE: Finding affordable car insurance after 65 in kansas - anyone else struggling?
- Had the same thing happen last spring. Deer jumped out, I hit the brakes, and the app dinged me for “unsafe driving.” Like I’m supposed to just plow through? - These apps seem built for folks who never leave paved ro...
RE: is accident forgiveness really worth it in Ohio?
Yep, exactly my thinking. I've been driving for over 20 years here in Ohio, and honestly, accident forgiveness always felt like paying extra for something I might never use. I'd rather keep my premiums low and have contr...
RE: Can Military Folks Really Get Cheaper Insurance Rates?
Couldn't agree more. I've checked into some of these military discount insurance deals myself and here's what I've found: - Rates might look lower initially, but once you factor in coverage specifics, it's often not the...
RE: quick heads-up on Arkansas auto insurance basics
Totally agree on the DIY angle - roadside assistance is handy, but it's not foolproof. A few things I've learned over the years: - Keep a basic toolkit and flashlight in your trunk (saved me more than once). - Check you...
RE: is accident forgiveness really worth it in Ohio?
- Totally agree with your take on this. I've been driving for over 15 years in Ohio, clean record, and never opted for accident forgiveness. - Did the math myself a few years back and realized I'd be paying hundreds ext...
RE: bumped someone's car lightly, no visible damage - should I report?
Yeah, I see your point, but honestly it's not always about sensors acting up. I've had a similar experience a while back: - Had a minor parking lot bump - barely noticeable, no visible scratches or dents. - Thought noth...
RE: is accident forgiveness really worth it in Ohio?
I've been driving in Ohio for over 15 years now, and honestly, I've never bothered with accident forgiveness. A few things to consider: - Accident forgiveness sounds nice, but it's basically insurance for your insurance...
RE: just heard about rental cars in Kansas and insurance drama
Had a similar surprise myself a couple years back. Thought my credit card had me fully covered - until a cracked windshield happened. Card company said glass wasn't included, and I ended up footing the bill. Ever since t...
