Honestly, I’ve never had much luck with the companies that don’t have a local office. The one time I tried, it was a circus—took forever to get someone out after a deer hit my truck. Local agents at least pick up the phone and don’t act surprised when you mention hail. As for clear policies, I swear they all hide behind weird language. Closest I got was Farm Bureau, but even then, you gotta read every line twice. Wyoming weather’s tough enough without insurance games...

I get what you mean about local offices—there’s something about knowing the person on the other end actually lives here. I’ve had my share of “circus” moments too, especially after a fender bender on icy roads. One thing that’s worked for me: before signing, I make a checklist—ask about every weird scenario (like deer or hail), then write down their answers. If they dodge, I move on. Not perfect, but it’s helped me avoid surprises... most of the time. Wyoming weather keeps you on your toes, that’s for sure.
