I swear, half the time I just want someone to hand me a card that says “yes, you’re covered if wildlife attacks.” Wyoming problems, I guess...

Honestly, the “comprehensive” thing gets people every time. Here’s the deal—if it’s a deer, elk, or even a rogue antelope, comprehensive usually covers it, but you’re right, the paperwork and process can be a pain. I always tell folks: 1) double-check your deductible, 2) keep photos of the damage and scene, and 3) call your agent ASAP (not the 1-800 number if you can help it). Local agents can be slow, but at least you can show up in person and point out the dent, which beats waiting on hold. Not perfect, but it’s saved my bacon more than once.

Definitely agree on the local agent thing—makes a world of difference having someone who actually knows the roads you drive. One thing I’d add: it’s worth checking if your policy has any weird exclusions. I found out mine didn’t cover towing after a wildlife collision, which was a nasty surprise in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah, those exclusions can bite you. Had a similar deal—my last policy didn’t cover cracked windshields from gravel trucks, which is just asking for trouble out here. Local agents do seem to flag that stuff better, but I’ve noticed even they miss the fine print sometimes. Always double-check roadside coverage and glass, especially if you’re driving long stretches. Wyoming’s got its own set of headaches when it comes to insurance...

Yeah, the fine print’s where they get you—like a game of “gotcha” but with more paperwork. I’ve seen folks swear their policy covers everything, then bam, rock hits the windshield and suddenly it’s “not that kind of rock.” Out here, if your glass isn’t covered, you’re basically rolling the dice every time a semi passes. I always tell people: if you can’t pronounce the exclusion, it probably matters. Wyoming roads don’t mess around.

Honestly, I get where you’re coming from about the fine print—insurance companies definitely have their tricks. But I don’t think it’s always as sneaky as folks make it out to be. Sometimes people just don’t read what they’re signing, or they assume “full coverage” means literally everything, which it usually doesn’t. I learned the hard way after a deer took out my side mirror last winter. Thought I was covered, turns out my deductible was higher than the repair.

Now I double-check every detail before renewing. It’s a pain, but it beats getting surprised later. And yeah, Wyoming roads are brutal, but I’d rather pay a bit more for glass coverage than risk it. Not saying the companies are saints, but sometimes we gotta own our part too.
