I've been looking into car insurance lately (fun times, I know...) and I'm stuck on deciding between just going with the basic liability coverage required here in Wisconsin or bumping it up to higher limits. The basic coverage is cheaper obviously, but I'm wondering if it's really enough protection if something serious happens.

I mean, accidents can get expensive fast, right? But then again, paying extra every month for something I might never need feels kinda wasteful. I've heard some horror stories from friends about being underinsured and ending up paying out of pocket. On the flip side, money's tight and every dollar counts these days.

Curious what other folks around here are doingβ€”are you sticking with the minimum liability coverage or paying a bit more for peace of mind? And if you've had experience with either option, how'd that work out for ya?
