Why Is It Such a Hassle to Get Passengers Covered After an Accident?

I'm honestly fed up with how complicated insurance companies make it when passengers are involved in an accident. Had a minor fender bender last month - nothing serious, thank god - but my friend who was riding with me ended up needing a quick check-up at the ER. Now my insurance is dragging their feet and making it seem like I'm asking for the moon just to cover her medical bill. Like, isn't that what I pay premiums for? Anyone else dealt with this nonsense before?

Had a similar thing happen to me a couple years back. Friend tweaked his neck in a minor accident, nothing major, but insurance acted like I was trying to scam them or something. Did they ask you for a ton of paperwork too? Sometimes it feels like they're hoping you'll just give up. Hang in there though - it usually gets sorted eventually, just takes patience...
