My Engine Just Died and My Wallet's Already Crying

So yesterday I'm cruising down the highway, minding my own business, when suddenly my car starts making this weird knocking sound. You know, the kind of noise that makes your stomach drop because you just KNOW it's gonna cost you. Pulled over, smoke coming from under the hood, and yup - engine's toast.

Now I'm sitting here wondering if my insurance is gonna bail me out or if I'm totally screwed. I mean, I know accidents and stuff are covered, but what about when your engine just randomly decides it's had enough of life? Feels like one of those gray areas insurance companies love to wiggle out of.
