Totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve had to deal with credit card rental coverage once, and it felt like a scavenger hunt for paperwork—just not worth the stress. My own insurance was way more straightforward, even if the deductible stings a bit. Honestly, those rental counter folks make declining coverage feel like defusing a bomb... one wrong move and you’re toast. I’d rather stick with what I know works, even if it’s not perfect.
