Okay, so I was chatting with a buddy yesterday who admitted he's been driving around without insurance for a couple months now. He says it's too expensive and figures he'll just be careful. Um, I told him that's probably not the smartest idea, you know? But it got me wondering how common this is. Quick poll: have you ever driven uninsured in Vermont? Was it intentional or did you just forget to renew or something? Curious how many folks actually do this...

Did it once years ago—totally by accident. Had a classic Mustang I was restoring, and insurance lapsed while it was sitting in the garage. Took it out for a quick spin after some repairs, completely forgot about the coverage. Realized halfway through the drive and felt paranoid the whole way home. Honestly, not worth the anxiety or potential trouble if something goes sideways...

Haha, been there myself—though not with anything as cool as a Mustang. Mine was a beat-up Civic I was fixing up for my nephew. Took it around the block to test the brakes, totally spaced on insurance until I saw a cop parked nearby... ever try to look casual while internally panicking? Yeah, not fun. Definitely agree it's not worth the stress or potential headache if something goes wrong.
