Honestly, I’ve seen State Farm’s app glitch out just as much as USAA’s. Tech’s never perfect, but I’ve noticed State Farm’s claims folks are a bit slower on the phone. Sometimes old-school beats fancy apps—just depends who picks up when you call.

- Had both, and honestly, neither app has saved me from a toddler meltdown in the back seat while I’m on hold.
- State Farm’s “fancy” tech once froze mid-claim and I had to start over.
- USAA at least called me back when their app crashed... but it took a day.
Anyone else have luck with the online chat features, or are those just for show?

Online chat is hit or miss, honestly. Sometimes you get a real person who actually helps, but more often it’s just a bot repeating FAQs. I’ve seen people get faster responses through Twitter DMs than the official chat. Anyone actually had a claim move forward through chat, or is it just another hoop to jump through?

You nailed it—online chat feels like a total gamble. I’ve had times where I’m stuck in that endless loop with a bot, just copy-pasting the same stuff from their website, and it gets old fast. But every once in a while, you get someone who actually listens and gets things moving. Honestly, I had better luck getting my windshield claim sorted with State Farm’s chat than I expected... but it still took a couple follow-up calls to get everything finalized.

I hear what you’re saying about Twitter DMs. It’s weird, but sometimes social media teams seem more motivated to help, maybe because it’s public? Still, for bigger claims, I wouldn’t trust chat alone. It feels like just another step before you end up on the phone anyway.

If you’re dealing with something straightforward, chat can work, but for anything complicated, I’d brace for some hoops. It’s frustrating, but don’t lose hope—sometimes persistence pays off.

Totally get where you’re coming from—sometimes I swear those chat bots are just there to test my patience (or maybe my sanity). My last claim with USAA had me bouncing between chat, phone, and email like I was in some kind of insurance obstacle course. Persistence really is the name of the game... and maybe a little luck doesn’t hurt either.
