I hear you on the hassle when things actually go wrong. It’s easy to underestimate how much back-and-forth there is until you’re dealing with claims at the same time. I’ve got a couple of vintage cars, and I keep my classic auto policy separate from my daily driver’s insurance for coverage reasons, but I bundle my regular auto and renters with USAA. For me, the discount was pretty minor, but what really made a difference was having just one agent to call when my storage unit (where I keep parts and tools) got broken into. Didn’t have to play middleman between two companies trying to figure out who covered what.

I’m curious—has anyone noticed if USAA actually handles bundled claims more smoothly, or is it still just as much paperwork as dealing with two separate companies? I’ve only had one incident so far, so my experience is limited. Just wondering if the “one-stop shop” thing really holds up under stress, or if it’s more of a marketing promise than reality.

I’ve had a couple claims with USAA where my auto and renters overlapped, and honestly, it was still a lot of paperwork. The agent was helpful, but I still had to fill out separate forms for each policy. Maybe a little less hassle than juggling two companies, but not as seamless as I hoped. Anyone else notice they ask for the same info twice? Kind of defeats the “one-stop” idea for me.
