Yeah, I’ve bounced between bundling and splitting policies a couple times. Honestly, the “loyalty” perks with USAA never really made up for the rate hikes I got after a fender bender. One year the bundle was a steal, next year it was way more than two separate policies elsewhere. I guess it’s just one of those things you have to keep an eye on—insurance companies aren’t exactly known for consistency.

Man, I hear you. I had my ‘68 Mustang on a classic car policy and tried to bundle it with my daily driver once—ended up paying more for both. Feels like they just spin the rate wheel every renewal. Loyalty perks are nice in theory, but my wallet says otherwise most years.

Bundling sounded like a no-brainer to me at first, but I learned the hard way it’s not always the best deal. My parents have USAA and they kept telling me to just bundle everything when I got my own car, but when I actually ran the numbers, splitting up my policies saved me like $200 a year. I still don’t really get how it jumps around so much—one year my friend got a crazy good rate with a bundle, and then it shot up for no reason at renewal. Makes me wonder if loyalty even matters or if they just expect us not to check. Guess you really have to shop around every year, which is kind of annoying, but worth it for the savings.

Bundling sounds like a slam dunk until you actually crunch the numbers, right? I’ve seen people save a chunk, but just as often, splitting up policies wins out. Here’s what I’ve noticed:

- Discounts look great upfront, but sometimes the base rates are higher, so the “deal” isn’t really a deal.
- Loyalty? Eh, insurers love it… until they don’t. Rates can spike for no clear reason.
- Shopping around is a pain, but yeah, it pays off. I’ve had clients switch every couple years just to keep things reasonable.

Bottom line: bundling’s not always the golden ticket. Gotta run the numbers every time—annoying, but your wallet will thank you.

Definitely agree—bundling isn’t always the slam dunk it’s hyped up to be. I’ve been with USAA for years, and honestly, sometimes their bundled rate is higher than splitting my car and home with different companies. Loyalty doesn’t mean much when they jack up your rates out of nowhere. I check every renewal, even if it’s a hassle. Sometimes it’s worth sticking around, sometimes not... no magic formula.
