I get what you're saying, but honestly, before dashcams and tech evidence were a thing, insurers weren't exactly known for taking our word at face value either. I once had to draw diagrams on napkins to prove my point... didn't exactly go well.

Yeah, I totally get your frustration—napkin diagrams sound painfully familiar. Had a similar experience years back trying to explain a minor fender-bender without any witnesses or footage. It felt like talking to a brick wall. Honestly, dashcams feel like a must-have these days; I won't drive without one now. Hang in there... insurance battles are draining, but persistence usually pays off eventually. Good luck with it.

Dashcams definitely help clear things up, but I'm curious—has anyone here actually had their dashcam footage directly overturn an insurance denial? I've heard mixed stories about insurers accepting video evidence. Seems like some companies drag their feet even with clear footage...would be interesting to hear firsthand experiences.

Dashcams are great, but honestly, insurers can be stubborn even with crystal-clear footage. A buddy of mine had a minor fender-bender caught perfectly on his dashcam—clearly showed the other driver at fault. Still, the insurance company dragged their feet, claiming they needed more "context" or something vague like that. Eventually, he had to escalate it to a supervisor before they finally accepted it. So yeah, dashcams help, but they're not always the magic bullet people think...sometimes you still gotta push back pretty hard.

Dashcams definitely help clarify situations, but you're right—footage alone doesn't always settle things immediately. Insurance companies often have internal procedures and checks they need to follow, even if the evidence seems obvious. I've seen cases where additional witness statements or police reports were requested to provide a fuller picture. Did your friend have any other supporting documentation besides the dashcam footage, like a police report or witness statements? Sometimes those extra details can smooth things out quicker.
