I hear you on the faded receipts—had a client once who kept every document in his glovebox, only to find out the sun had basically erased half of them. Digital’s convenient, but I get nervous about putting all my eggs in one basket too. Servers go down, passwords get forgotten... I guess doubling up with scans and hard copies is about as close as we get to “safe,” even if it feels a bit paranoid sometimes.

Honestly, I’d rather risk a server crash than dig through a pile of crumpled papers after an accident. At least with digital, I can search by date or keyword. But yeah, if your phone’s dead or you can’t remember your login, you’re screwed. Has anyone actually had a claim denied because they couldn’t produce the right doc on the spot? Or is that just insurance scare tactics?

That’s true, but I had a friend whose phone died right after a fender bender, and he couldn’t pull up his insurance info. The cop was cool about it, but it definitely added stress. Paper’s a pain, but at least it doesn’t need charging.

- That’s a fair point about paper not needing a battery, but I’ve run into issues with paper too:
- Glove box gets messy, then I can’t find the right doc in a hurry
- Water spill or coffee accident? Paper’s toast
- Updates—if my insurance sends a new card, I sometimes forget to swap it out

- Digital’s not perfect, but I keep screenshots of my docs in my phone gallery. Even if the app won’t load, photos usually do. Just feels more reliable for me, but yeah, both have their flaws.

I totally get the glove box chaos—mine’s basically a black hole for old receipts and expired registration slips. But I’ve had my phone die at the worst possible time, like right after a long day at work when I needed to show proof of insurance. Ever tried explaining to a cop that your phone “usually works”? Not fun. Do you ever worry about phone storage or losing stuff if your phone crashes? I guess it’s really just choosing which headache you want to deal with...
