"if you're prone to midnight snack runs or spontaneous road trips...might wanna stick with SF."
Haha, can vouch for this 100%. Had Farm Bureau for a while—great folks, no complaints—but when you're stuck in the middle of nowhere at 2 AM, State Farm just hits different. Last summer, my battery died outside some sketchy gas station (classic me 🙄), and SF had someone there in like 30 mins flat. If your adventures tend to get a lil' unpredictable, SF's probably your best bet.
Gotta say, I've had the opposite experience. Been with Farm Bureau for years and they've always come through—even on those late-night breakdowns. Last fall, my '68 Mustang decided to quit on me around midnight (typical classic car drama...), and FB had someone out surprisingly quick. Maybe it depends more on your local agents or area coverage rather than the company itself? Either way, glad SF worked out for you!
Interesting to hear your experience with FB. I've bounced around insurers quite a bit (high-risk driver here, unfortunately...), and honestly, you're spot on about local agents making a huge difference. Had FB briefly, and while the company itself seemed solid, my agent was kinda meh. Switched to SF and lucked out with someone who actually gets my situation. Glad your Mustang got sorted quickly though—nothing worse than classic car drama at midnight, haha.
Totally agree about the agent thing making or breaking the experience. Had State Farm a while back and honestly, the company was fine, but my agent was like talking to a brick wall—zero personality and always seemed annoyed when I called (sorry for interrupting your coffee break, dude...). Switched to Farm Bureau and lucked out with someone who actually laughs at my dumb jokes and remembers my name. Makes a huge difference when you're dealing with stressful stuff like fender benders or midnight breakdowns.
Glad your Mustang drama ended well—been there myself with an old Jeep that decided midnight in January was the perfect time to die on me. Classic cars, gotta love 'em...
Yeah, a good agent definitely smooths out those stressful moments. Had a similar issue with Allstate a while back—company was okay, but my agent was impossible to reach. Glad you found someone reliable... makes all the difference when your car decides to act up.
