I've been with both at different times, and honestly, Farm Bureau surprised me too. They seemed more familiar with mods overall, which made me feel better about coverage specifics. State Farm wasn't bad, but I got the vibe they were just tolerating my setup rather than fully understanding it. Price-wise, Farm Bureau was slightly cheaper for me as well—worth checking into if budget matters to you. Either way, definitely smart to call and gauge their comfort level first...

Yeah, Farm Bureau can be surprisingly solid with mods. I've had clients who were hesitant at first because they're not as big a name as State Farm, but ended up pretty satisfied. Still, it's always smart to double-check specifics—sometimes smaller insurers have quirks in their fine print. Sounds like you did your homework though, good call on actually chatting with them directly. Better safe than sorry, especially when you're dealing with mods and custom setups...

I've been with Farm Bureau for a few years now, and here's my take:

- Coverage on mods has been straightforward so far, no hidden surprises yet.
- Premiums were a bit lower than State Farm quoted me.
- BUT... always dig into their fine print—smaller outfits sometimes have quirky clauses that catch you off guard.

You're smart to ask around first. Better cautious now than stuck later.

Good points about the fine print—honestly, that's true with any insurer, big or small. I've handled claims from both State Farm and Farm Bureau, and they're both pretty solid overall. Farm Bureau tends to be a bit more flexible with mods, like you mentioned, but State Farm's claim process is usually smoother and quicker in my experience. I'd say it comes down to what's more important to you: saving a few bucks on premiums or having a slightly easier time if something goes sideways. Either way, you're not making a bad choice here...

Good breakdown on both insurers. I've had experience with both too, and here's my quick take:

- Farm Bureau definitely has that flexibility edge if you're into mods or have a slightly unusual vehicle situation. Had a buddy who lifted his truck and added some aftermarket gear—Farm Bureau didn't even blink, while State Farm gave him a bit of a runaround before finally agreeing to cover it.

- State Farm, though, is pretty hard to beat when it comes to claims handling. Had a minor fender-bender last year (not my fault, thankfully), and State Farm had everything sorted out within a week. Rental car, repairs, the whole nine yards—no headaches at all. Farm Bureau wasn't bad either when my sister had a claim, but it took a little longer and required a bit more back-and-forth.

- Premium-wise, Farm Bureau usually comes out cheaper, especially if you're bundling home and auto. But honestly, the difference isn't huge enough to sway me personally. I'd rather pay a few extra bucks each month knowing that if something happens, I won't have to jump through hoops.

- One thing to consider: local agents. I've found that having a good agent nearby can make a huge difference. My State Farm agent is literally five minutes away and knows me by name. Farm Bureau agents can be great too, but their offices tend to be fewer and farther between depending on your area.

Bottom line, you're not gonna regret either choice. Just depends on your priorities—saving money vs. convenience and peace of mind. For me, peace of mind wins every time...but that's just my two cents.
